We have the privilege of hosting this weekends regatta. Our regatta is named after two men that were instrumental in the foundation and growth of Na Kai Ewalu, John Wilmington III & William “Boogie” Wainui Regatta.

• John Wilmington III – Papa John is one of our founder’s and is the longest serving Treasurer at 20 years. He also served the greater canoeing community by helping write the first race rules for Maui’s Canoe Association and was a long time official in Maui and the State Races.
• William Wainui Jr – Uncle Boogie was our Head Coach for 20 years, took a break then served for another ~10 years. He also helped write the first race rules for our association.
