Storage Agreement
*
You agree to the terms and conditions set forth by Nā Kai ‘Ewalu (NKE) and the Board of Directors (BOD) as seen appropriate to ensure additional safety and security for NKE grounds, equipment, membership and storage including OC-1/OC-2 canoes. Failure to comply with the below regulations may result in fines up to and including the expense to buy all hale locks in an amount to be determined by the BOD.
1. This Agreement shall be valid for one (1) year. The storage period shall begin on January 1, 2026 and terminate on December 31, 2026. Must be an ‘OHANA, HOE or KEIKI 2026 NKE racing member or a 2025 season coach.
2. During the storage period, Nā Kai ‘Ewalu shall not be responsible for any maintenance, upkeep, damage, theft, loss, or other costs, foreseeable or not, caused by weather, acts of vandalism, or otherwise, associated with storage of any property stored at Nā Kai ‘Ewalu’s hale. Storage of your canoe at Nā Kai ‘Ewalu’s hale is at the owner’s own risk.
3. You are the SOLE “owner” of the lock code provided to you and only you shall use the code to gain access to the NKE hale and grounds.
4. This agreement is NON-TRANSFERABLE. If you no longer need the space, please contact Cheryl Espania immediately.
5. All renters are prohibited from any additional use of the hale unless previously approved by the BOD.
6. You are only allowed to use your assigned storage space. If there is a mutual agreement to swap spaces with someone, you both must first coordinate the change with Cheryl Espania.
7. The hale must remain locked. Lock up after retrieving or putting away your canoe.
8. All hale rules apply.
9. Clean up after yourself. If a Club hose is used, clean it, roll it up and put it away.
10. The NKE hale is not a storage facility. Anything besides your canoe (ama, ‘iako, seat, leash, canoe storage bag) left at the hale will become the property of NKE and will either be thrown away, sold or donated.
11. The cement driveway is not to be used to load/unload your canoe.
12. Immediately report damage to the storage area to the BOD.
